Our Staff
Our teachers and teacher aides are carefully selected for their
knowledge of Early Childhood Education, their commitment to a
high quality educational experience, and their personal
characteristics which make them well-suited to working with
young children.

Each classroom has a hierarchy of lead teacher, teachers, and
aides with individual responsibilities for each.  The lead teachers
are responsible for overall curriculum planning, student
assessment and conferencing, and production of a monthly
newsletter and calendar of activities for their classroom.
Classroom teachers and aides are also involved in curriculum
planning and implementation.

It is our belief that a teacher's primary responsibility is to
nurture a love of learning in all children, and in the process help
children become self-confident learners who demonstrate
respect for others.  Academic skills are important, but equally
important are the social skills which help children integrate
successfully in society.

Golden Poppy offers an ongoing program of staff development
and training.  Several in-service days are included in the school
calendar to facilitate this learning.  Many of the school's teachers
have been with the school for ten years or more.  Our staff is
extremely dedicated, knowledgeable, supportive and nurturing.
They form the backbone for a child's first positive educational
experience.
